Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary and Munnar, Kerala - 21 to 24 March 2008
I had purchased the Canon 1D Mark III and as a part of the Canon Edge program I had to avail my free ticket before end of March 2008. I decided to go to Thattekkad and hire Eldhose as my guide. I contacted Eldhose and booked him for the duration of my stay. Thanks to Canon who helped me book and get my tickets on time...

Daroji Bear Sanctuary - 11th - 12th August 2007
The number of trips I have made this year are far less than what I had done last year owing to health and other personal reasons. But still it has been a good year with respect to a lot of learning on the photography side. I have upgraded to Photoshop CS3 and underwent Photoshop CS3 Color Correction training (online)by Taz Tally and also Photoshop CS3 for Photographers by Chris Orwig. I also bought the sekonic L386 Lightmeter and I now do exposure reading off the lightmeter for most of my images...

Dampa Tiger Reserve and Blue Mountain National Park, Mizoram - 09 to 17 December 2006

This trip for bird watching/photography around the fringes of Bannerghatta was decided at the last moment on Saturday afternoon. BRT Wildlife Sanctuary - 16 to 19 March 2006
I started from Bangalore early morning and took the Kanakapura-Malavalli-Kollegal route, a mistake which I realized during the drive from Kanakapura to Malavalli. The road is bad to the core and took more than an hour to cover this stretch. Finally I reached the forest check post after Kollegal by around noon....

Kemmangundi and Muthodi, Western Ghats - 24 to 27 November 2005
I always wanted to visit the Western Ghats and was looking for an opportunity to do so. Vijay had plans to go and shoot the Bright Headed Cisticola along with Yathin who had visited the place earlier and had got the bird. So, I also hopped in along with them. The weather was a bit cloudy.....

The postings and the discussions on india-nature-pixs was in full swing when Sumit Sen proposed a trip for the members of the group. There were different options to consider - Bharatpur, Corbett, Thattekad and the North East. A few of us signed up for the North East and Sumit started working on the travel plan through Help Tourism....

Lakkavalli Forest Range, Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary - 30 Oct to 01 Nov 2004
Wow! Superb view and a fantastic place - Those were the words we uttered seeing the Lakkavalli forest guest house, situated on top of a hill, overlooking the Bhadra dam. It was around 1 pm when Chaitra and I reached the guest house. The road was good and the drive was quite scenic. We took the Bangalore-Tumkur-Tiptur-Arsikere-Tarikere route....

My Visit to Doddamakkali camp was decided on the day I visited the Bheemeshwari Fishing camp. Jungle Lodges and Resorts have three camps along the Cauvery river basin. Doddamakkali , Bheemeshwari and Galibore. Doddamakkali was supposed to be more scenic than Galibore and Bheemeshwari....

We planned to go to Cauvery Fishing camp, Bheemeshwari to get the Lesser Fish Eagle and we got some decent shots. I decided to spend the Saturday at Bheemeshwari along with my friend En Chiang. We started off from Bangalore at around 6:30 in the morning. The weather was looking good....
