A Visit to Vijay Cavale's Farm - 05 September 2004
An outing with Ramki was long overdue. So, we decided to meet up
at
Vijay's place and drive down to his farm for a day's outing. Swarna
(Ramki's wife) also joined us. Since the weather was not with us, we
took our own sweet time to leave from Vijay's home. As
usual we drove down the country side and shot along the way. We
were on the lookout for the Brown Shrikes. But I guess it's still too
early to sight them. I remember seeing the first winter brown shrike
around October 2nd last year along with Vijay and Suraj.
It was around 11:30am when we reached Vijay's farm. The farm was lush
green steaming with activity, beautiful flowers blooming and the birds
chirping everywhere.
The Baya weavers had
started nesting . We shot till 1:30pm, had an excellent lunch and
relaxed for sometime. Later in the afternoon, we had some tea and left
for Bangalore.
