Kalkere - 25 April 2004

Late in the afternoon I decided to check out the Kalkere Lake and do some photography.  As usual I packed up my equipment and drove towards Hennur road which is around 7 Km from my home.  The light was pretty good and so was the weather.

When I reached the spot, I could see lots of Purple/Common Moorhens along with some Cattle/Little Egrets, though these were unapproachable due to the slush created by heavy rains the previous night.  Since my intention was to photograph, I had not carried my binoculars and hence could not identify some of the smaller species of birds.  Some of the birds I captured on that day are as follows:

Black-Shouldered Kite
Indian Bushlark
Red Avadavat - female
Rufous Treepie
Zitting Cisticola
